“Most of us have two lives. The life we live and the unlived life within us. Between the two stands resistance.” Steven Pressfield

No pain, no gain!

Yes that is my fitness “motto” … just when I am close to giving up I repeat “no pain, no gain” in my head over and over until I am done.

Cheesy? Perhaps, but it motivates me!

I wanted to share that I made it over the 30 day hump on p90x! I am thrilled because I bought this set in 2009 and used it until day 4 (yoga) and gave up!

Well guess what??? I have done 4 sets of yoga since then and I am hating it less and less each time. Why is it so difficult for me?

1. I am NOT flexible

2. The calmness of it drives me insane! I am use to my mind and body going at a faster speed than yogax.

3. I didn’ t think yoga was a workout UNTIL I fully committed!

After 30 days I will report that I have seen some incredible results! I am finally achieving what I have been working on for the last 4 years! TONING. Who would have thought that lifting weights would do that to a person’s body? ;) It only proves what fitness gurus have been telling us for years. Your body gets used to workouts and you plateau!

So day 1 to day 30. I have NOT lost weight, but I have lost a few inches here and there. That is totally what I was looking for, some definition! I have pictures, but I am not ready to share YET or maybe ever lol.

NUTRITION:

On another note I am having some difficulty with my nutrition. Doing 2 a days (p90x in the AM and running in the PM) has me STARVING and I can’t get my body to adjust to the change. I find myself hungry every 2-3 hours!

I am on the hunt for a good eating plan, but nothing yet.

However, I will share what my favorite snack is! Without the egg :) This is from My Fit Foods, but I of course make it on my own! & might I add way cheaper!

REWARDS:

I told myself after 100 workouts I would treat myself to something and I am looking forward to getting myself some new shoes. 59 workouts to go! After 4 pairs of Mizunos… I am totally dissing the Mizunos and going for some Newtons!

  1. I feel the same way about yoga. I am trying to make it a part of my normal fitness routine, but I get so bored! I don’t feel like I’m working out because I don’t sweat like I do when I do cardio..and I am not flexible. My boyfriend is a hockey goalie (meaning he is really flexible) so he’s so good a yoga…so I feel kind of dumb :P

I felt ” silly” doing the poses at first because they are in fact so silly lol but after wearing my heart monitor I realized it is workout! I burned @300 calories during the routine. I personally like doing yoga alone because then my silly poses won’t be so silly looking ha! my flexibility has improved I will say that. So don’t give up! Make it your motivation to improve!
